The big brother to the IE2 and cousin to the Freestyle, the Bose MIE2i are a pair of in-ear headphones designed to be used with smartphones. With this iOS-compatible model, the renowned American brand is promising high-quality sound for both music and phone calls.
DESIGN
The MIE2i exhibit the same expert manufacturing as many of Bose's products. They're sturdy, reliable, elegant and discreet. Like most of the company's in-ear headphones, they have StayHear silicone tips for a better grip within the ear. Several tips (S, M and L) come in the package, allowing the MIE2i to fit most ears, and the tips are washable and easy to remove from the buds.
The buds stay comfortably snuggled in the ear and are easy to insert and remove. So much so, that the MIE2i can be used for long listening sessions without causing discomfort.
The cable is lined with an anti-tangling material. They appear to be sturdy, ending in a right-angle 3.5mm audio jack, which should prevent the risk of breaking when the smartphone or MP3 player is sitting in your pocket. The classic, yet effective clip allows you to position the mic and avoid traction on the ear.
Like the MIE2, the MIE2i have a built-in three-button remote. It's solid and well built, and compatible with Apple products only. The earphones will work on other devices (Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry), but only using the Play/Pause and Answer/Ignore functions. A semi-rigid portable carrying case also comes in the box.
